DigiCirc has just launched the Open Call for Circular Cities and is looking to fund and support SME driven with digital circular solutions by addressing specific challenges in the domain of Circular Cities, and invite them to join this transformation of EU Cities by providing a more circular economy approach.
DigiCirc (European cluster-led accelerator for digitisation of the circular economy across key emerging sectors) is a European H2020 INNOSUP project gathering 11 partners led by Cap Digital. It aims at boosting the circular economy by leveraging digital tools. The project will support highly innovative SMEs in the business development and marketing of solutions, products, processes based on circular value chains. DigiCirc will organise 3 Accelerator Programmes throughout 2020-2022, with €2.4 million committed in cascade funding for SMEs, namely: Circular Cities, Blue Economy and Bioeconomy.
How does Circular Cities work?
Circular Cities Accelerator Programme has a total budget of 800 thousand euros to finance a minimum of 15 consortia led by SMEs. DigiCirc will select a minimum of 15 consortia, composed by at least 2 SMEs/ start-ups, developing innovative solutions addressing the circular cities challenges presented below. SMEs will be given the opportunity to use the DigiCirc Matchmaking Platform to look for other SMEs in case they need a partner to build a consortium. The selected consortia will get direct funding of up to €20.000 and integrate a highly intensive and innovative 12 weeks-long innovation support programme. At the end of the accelerator programme, 5 consortia will be selected to receive further funding of €100.000. They will have up to 6 months to develop their prototype and make test in operational environment in view of a commercial launch
