Extensive participation in the virtual tour "Codytrip Turin, City of Innovation", held on 22 and 23 April 2021, which were joined by 43,835 people from 998 cities from around the world. Each phase of the trip had a number of simultaneous active participants ranging from 15,000 to 45,000, with an average of 22,974. Over the course of the two days more than 165,000 people, from 28,247 different devices, faced the trip. Live online activities were conducted for 769 minutes spread over 2 days.

Departing from Porta Nuova Station, the 40,000 virtual students, accompanied by Prof. Alessandro Bogliolo, travelled along the streets of the center with a tourist guide and tasted the Bicerin at the Caffè Pepino. The first stop in the museum was the Egyptian Museum, where statues, papyrus and canopic vases could be seen up close, knowing the extraordinary adventures of archaeologists, travellers and ambassadors who visited Egypt many years ago. We then moved to the Royal Museums of Turin with the walk through the Royal Palace and the Armory, the Chapel of the Shroud, the Kitchens and the Royal Gardens to conclude the morning with the lunch break at the Royal Cafe.

In the afternoon of the first day the participants visited the spaces of Edulab, the laboratory of Turin City Lab managed by ITER - Turin Institution for a Responsible Education, dedicated to the experimentation of innovative solutions for teaching.

Particular interest was aroused by the visit to the Innovation Mile that today visually identifies the innovative aspect of Turin. It is home to 2 universities, 5 research centres, 3 innovation centres, 2 incubators as well as 250 companies, 80 startups, 2 railway stations, 2 metro stops, the innovative Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper designed by Renzo Piano, the former Rai skyscraper and the new complex of the former Officine Grandi Riparazioni.

The first stage of the Mile was the Ex Officine Grandi Riparazioni, historical place of maintenance of locomotives, today 9 thousand square meters of 'officine di creatività' with a visit of the areas dedicated to contemporary culture, innovation and the acceleration of an international enterprise.

The second event instead led the participants to the Intesa Sanpaolo skyscraper, which hosts the 31st floor of the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, the Group’s company that, in addition to doing advanced research on issues such as artificial intelligence, supports customer companies in their process of technological development and internationalization.

The day continued with a walk through the streets of the center and with the reading of some songs on the Po River in the company of the writer Luisio Luciano Badolisani.
And then check-in and visit the Turin Palace Hotel, followed by dinner: here the participants could discover the secrets of the Piedmontese culinary tradition with the Chef’s recipes. After the dinner the participants listened, under a starry sky and the tireless voice of the Professor, the readings proposed by Giunti Scuola on the theme of sustainability, announcing the next telegite.

The second day began at the Valentino Park, the green heart of the city, for muscle awakening, useful to allow Prof. Alessandro Bogliolo to "climb" in an exceptional visit of the Mole Antonelliana, that allowed 40,000 online users to discover Turin from an inaccessible point of view in a "normal" trip. Following the tour between the archaeology of cinema and modern car inside the National Cinema Museum.

The telegita ended with its last stop in Moncalieri, visiting the Castle and its royal apartments and the Rose Garden.

Thanks to specially designed technical solutions, the participants during the two days were actively involved in direct videos, questions, surveys and quizzes in which 115 points were put up for grabs, associated with them. In short, there were two intense days and there was a lot of preparation by the Gruppo DIGIT s.r.l. (proposer) and all the Torinesi partners. The numbers were very high and allowed to convey a fresh and collaborative image of our territory, stimulated by the curious and attentive look of Prof. Bogliolo.

The "Cody Trip Turin - The City of Innovation" program was developed with the support of the Municipality of Turin through the Department of Innovation and the Department of Education as part of the Torino City Lab initiative and thanks to a wide network of exceptional partner organizations as follows: Turismo Torino e Provincia, Museo Egizio, Museo Nazionale del Cinema, OGR Torino, IntesaSanpaolo Innovation Center, Comune di Moncalieri e Mibact – Direzione Regionale Musei del Piemonte.
