The strong synergy between Techstars and the City of Turin continues.
After two years of collaboration in the Techstars Smart Mobility Accelerator, the first startup acceleration program in Europe dedicated to smart mobility, launched by Techstars with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, Techstars Cities of The Future, the first Italian accelerator for startups with a smart cities theme, is born from the same protagonists.
Throughout the acceleration path, Techstars will dialogue with the City of Turin (Torino City Lab and CTE NEXT), while the physical location will be the OGR TECH.
There are 12 selected high-potential European companies from Italy, Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, France and Hungary.
The accelerator program began January 24 and will run through April 21, 2022.
The focus of the program is precisely smart cities and its services, specifically technologies that address population growth solutions, transportation, housing solutions, energy management, infrastructure, employment, and basic services such as education and healthcare.
The 12 startups admitted to the program will carry out projects designed to improve the lives of citizens, anticipating change and strengthening the role of Turin in the international map of innovation, thanks to the involvement of the entire ecosystem of innovation in the city, as was the case for the previous editions of Techstars Smart Mobility Accelerator, which accelerated 23 startups in two years, from all over the world.
Here are the names of the selected startup: Gymnasio, Family+Happy, Strategic BIM, Hive Power, Inputsoft, Lawyerd!, NATIX, NRGI.ai, OPTIMIZ, Voltaage, Volteum, Xworks Tech.
Almost all of these companies will test their technologies on the city's territory and from this year the opportunities to facilitate urban testing and transversal support already offered within Torino City Lab will be expanded, thanks to the assets and facilities of CTE NEXT.
