The free course "Table and Sustainability. Lepidoptera as Pollinators and the Circularity of Food" promoted by the Horizon 2020 project FUSILLI (Fostering the Urban food System Transformation through Innovative Living Labs Implementation) is about to start.
The course, reserved for primary and secondary school teachers (teachers of children aged 6 to 13), is directed at exploring the relationship between food and sustainability, with the mission of offering new teaching tools to be integrated into their respective curricula in order to stimulate, encourage and generate responses aimed at reducing the ecological footprint among students.
The course is 8 hours, divided into 2 modules, divided into 4 appointments of 2 hours each.
The first 6-hour module is entitled "Butterflies as Pollinators" and is a journey into the world of pollinating insects, particularly lepidopterans, with insights into their biology, ecology and conservation.
The second 2-hour module is titled "Circular Bioeconomy of Food and Food Waste" investigates the topic of sustainability and ecological transition.
Each 2-hour meeting will be held 5-7 P.M., at the school I.C.A. Cairoli in Turin, 10 Torrazza Piemonte Street.

Registration is required and can be done on Ministry of Education SOFIA platform at this link by December 12, 2022.
A maximum of 25 participants is expected and 1 Training Credit will be granted for teachers.
Considering the limited number of places, participation will be guaranteed according to the order of registration until full.

The course is part of the City of Turin's actions related to FUSILLI, a project funded by the European Horizon 2020 program that aims to transform the urban food system through innovative living labs. In Turin, it is a project of the City Council with Fondazione Mirafiori in collaboration with Orti Generali, the Università delle Scienze Gastronomiche and the Università degli Studi di Torino.
