Smart Level, Smart Noise, Smart Waste



Experimentation duration 12 months from November 2018

Nettrotter, as the exclusive operator in Italy of the SIGFOX Ultra Narrow Band technology, will make its network available to the City of Turin to test in real conditions some innovative solutions concerning three strategic areas for the government of the territory: noise monitoring, monitoring of the level of rivers, environmental monitoring.

Smart Noise - experimentation duration: 12 months
In Piazza S. Giulia, the heart of Vanchiglia's nightlife, sensors for noise monitoring will be installed, self-powered by a solar panel. The monitoring will allow to evaluate how the technology can support the administration in the management of urban areas where the constant presence of hundreds of people, especially in the evening, turns into a sound pressure likely to exceed the limits and still source of discomfort for the resident population.

Smart Level - duration of experimentation: 12 months
On the Carlo Emanuele III Bridge, Borgo Dora, and on the Rossini Bridge, which joins the Vanchiglia and Aurora districts, sensors for hydrometric monitoring will be installed. The monitoring station, consisting of a high-sensitivity level sensor, a radio module and a solar panel that makes the station self-powered, collects and transmits data through the Sigfox network every 15 minutes in stable conditions, or when level changes occur according to a customizable threshold.

Smart Waste - duration of experimentation: end 2018
The experimentation for the monitoring of environmental quality is carried out in collaboration with the IREN Group, which will provide ten containers for the separate collection of glass located in the district of San Salvario, on which sensors are installed to remotely monitor the level of filling, as well as to report any fires and tipping over. The experimentation will make it possible to assess, in the field and under real operating conditions, the limits and opportunities of the integration of IoT technologies into the waste cycle, both for ordinary management and for the optimisation of organisational processes.
